3/4 cup of salt
8.8 teaspoons of tartar-based cream
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Food colouring, any colours you’d like to create your own putty
Spatula
Whisk

Directions:

1. In a medium-sized to large saucepan, combine the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly before adding all the liquid ingredients. Utilizing the large spatula or spoon to mix all the ingredients till the mix is free of clumps.

2. The mixture is heated over medium-low temperature and stir often. While you stir the mixture, it will begin to get clumped together. Change to a spatula again for mixing and then continue to stir. If a large clump of mixture is formed, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool.

3. After cooling to a comfortable temperature, you can begin to work the putty by hand. Once the consistency is consistent start separating the putty into sections that are even in case you’re making various shades. In this batch, we have been able to create quite a few different shades. To include the food colouring, create an impression using your thumb in the middle of the ball. Then slowly add small amounts of food colouring in each time, making sure the colour is evenly distributed. Once you’ve reached the desired hue it’s time to play!
